The founder and principal of 2050 Art Services is Molly Morse Limmer. Molly's illustrious career in the art world has spanned three decades in the auction world, from Christie's to Hindman and Freeman's Auctions, as well as the 2016 establishment of 2050 Art Services. 

Early in her career, Molly spent 17 years at Christie's flagship offices in New York, where she served as Vice President, Senior Specialist and Department Head for Antiquities.  Molly led the Antiquities Department to successfully achieve several world records at auction for ancient art, including presiding over and wielding the gavel for the sale of the Shuster Master Cycladic Figure, which sold for $16,800,000 in December 2010.  During her tenure as Department Head, Molly worked with countless clients – from serious private collectors to international institutions; from heads of state to individuals who fell in love with a single object – in acquiring, selling, evaluating, cataloguing, transporting, insuring, displaying, storing, and adoring works of art. 

In 2014, Molly enhanced her skills when appointed Vice President, Business Development for Christie’s Midwest Regional Office, based in Chicago.  In this expanded role, she worked with private clients, institutions, and galleries throughout the Midwest; Molly cultivated relationships, managed consignments, coordinated appraisals, and advised clients on art and auction matters. 

In 2016, Molly transformed her love for art and her profound knowledge of the industry to launch 2050 Art Services, as the premiere art and antiquities consultancy in America.  Since its establishment, 2050 Art Services has worked with private individuals, institutions, galleries, appraisal firms, advisories, and auction houses in buying, selling, and appraising works of art, antiquities, and luxury collectibles.  A Certified Appraiser with the Appraisers Association of America (AAA), Molly is one of the foremost appraisers in her field in the fields of Greek, Roman, Egyptian, and Ancient Near Eastern Art. 

In 2020, Molly joined Hindman Auctions as Executive Vice President, Deputy Chairman, overseeing the expertise of the firm.  In this broad management role, Molly was responsible for the auction categories represented by the firm, the staffing of the specialist departments, the auction calendars, and auction budgets.  Under Molly’s leadership, the firm added multiple categories and significantly expanded its expertise, establishing itself as an auction house built around the highest level of scholarship.  After merging in 2024, the firm became known as Freeman’s.  With the additional responsibilities of managing auctioneer of Freeman’s, Molly presided over several auction records from the podium, including the landmark sale of Historic Americana from the Life of Abraham Lincoln, John Jacob Astor’s Pocket Watch, and countless auctions of important jewelry, antiquities, and fine and decorative arts. 

Molly is also a renowned charity auctioneer, having raised millions of dollars for charities around the country. 

In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the founding of 2050 Art Services, Molly has relaunched the firm with renewed vigor.   With now three decades of experience in the art market as specialist, advisor, appraiser, and auction house executive, Molly brings a renewed energy in providing the highest level of service.  

Molly Morse Limmer holds a M.A. in Greek and Roman art from the Courtauld Institute of Art in London and a B.A. in Classics and Art History from Brown University.
